Watch me play the games I review on Twitch!

The 2018 Game Awards have come a long way since the years of Mountain
Dew and Doritos hustling at every corner. Here are my top 5 picks for this year’s best reveals:
5. Far Cry New Dawn
The latest entry in the Far Cry franchise is set in the aftermath of a nuclear war. Based on the trailer, it looks like Fallout mixed with the Far Cry formula we’ve seen so many times before. In light of the utter disaster that is Fallout 76, many gamers that still have that post-apocalyptic itch might look to Far Cry New Dawn to scratch it.
Release date: 15th February 2019

4. Mortal Kombat 11
Mortal Kombat is back with all new ways to murder, decapitate, brutalize, and humiliate your enemies. It is unclear how the story will play out based on the trailer, but the notion of 2 Scorpions is enough to excite just about any Mortal Kombat fan. The game is set to launch April 23, with more details about to game to come on January 17th.
Release date: 23rd April 2019

3. Psychonauts 2
It has been 13 years since the last Psychonauts, and we are finally getting a sequel to this much beloved game. There is no gameplay in the trailer, but it does confirm a continuation of Razputin’s story and his goal of being an international psychic spy.
Release date: 2019

2. Atlas
Atlas looks exactly what Sea of Thieves should have been and more. From the developers of Ark Survival Evolved, it promises to be 1,200 times bigger than Ark and support around 40,000 concurrent players. During the post trailer interview at the Game Awards, lead designer Jeremy Stieglitz teased player armadas, conquering land, hunting mythical creatures and many more! The game is set to come out on the 13th of December, so we will see soon enough if it lives up to the hype.
Release date: 13th December 2018

1. The Outer World
From the original creators of Fallout and the developers of Fallout: New Vegas comes The Outer World. Think No Man’s Sky, if it had content, combined with the NPC interactions, story and depth of a good Fallout game (Not Fallout 76). It’s safe to say that this game shows potential but it’s still too early to judge. Based on past performance of similar games, I wouldn’t get too excited just yet.
Release date: 2019

Honourable mentions:
Persona 5’s joker is joining Super Smash Bros. Ultimate as a DLC character.
PUBG revealed their new winter map, yay?
A new Rage 2 trailer with a release date, May 14 2019.
