Earlier this week Capcom finally released one of its biggest (literally) monsters on Monster Hunter: World for the PC - the Kulve Taroth. The Kulve Taroth siege is a free update game-mode that pits 16 players in individual groups of 4 against the gigantic golden monster residing in El Dorado, Kulve Taroth, that had initially escaped the hunters of the First Fleet, and now reappears due to end game events.
To unlock the Kulve Taroth siege mode, hunters will need to have completed the main story line of the game and have reached Hunter Rank (HR) 16, and then find its tracks in an expedition or optional quest - similar to the requirements for unlocking the Deviljho special assignment quest. Upon meeting these conditions, the special investigation, Banquet in the Earthen Hall, will become available Once the Kulve Taroth quest is unlocked, hunters are able to initiate the Kulve Taroth siege from the Gathering Hub.
Once initiated, four groups of four hunters will jump into an instance to hunt essentially the same Kulve Taroth. All groups can start at separate times, but the progression in terms of pursuit level and reward points will be shared - all of which are increased by gathering tracks or breaking body parts. Moreover, though 16 players are not required, the mode is scaled for a 16-player difficulty, where it becomes easier to complete the goal and gain rewards with more hunters. Lastly, once on a hunt, it is not possible to shoot SOS flares, so hunters will need to make sure they have a full party ready before jumping into the hunt.
The Kulve Taroth Siege mode free DLC for Monster Hunter: World was released on November 2nd, 2018 for the PC.
